Each building still is an architectural complex of great interest, creating together the core of Cannaregio. The possible alternative is Dorsoduro, my favourite restaurant and bars area, but it will take you more time to get there from the airport. There are two 1-bedroom apartments that can host up to 4 people. If you are more looking into a low budget in Venice, then the Anda Venice Hostel is a great modern hostel option. The island of Giudecca is home to many of Venice’s most luxurious hotels, and a ferry ride from Giudecca to Piazza San Marco takes roughly 10 minutes. In this respect, I would suggest booking a hotel in San Paolo, Dorsoduro or San Marco, possibly close to a ferry station, the easiest way to avoid most of the bridges, but not all.
